Students who apply for the Master's in International Development Studies but who lack sufficient background in international development studies and lack sufficient knowledge of research methodology in social sciences may gain entry to the Master's programme by completing a special preparatory programme.

Preparatory Programme I
Students who lack sufficient knowledge in international development studies and research methodology will be required to complete a preparatory programme of 30 EC prior to the start of the Master's programme. This preparatory programme will start twice per year, in September and February.
Preparatory Programme II
Students who have a deficiency in research methodology will be required to complete the Intensive Introduction Course to Research Methodology - qualitative focus (August) (10 EC) or Intensive Introduction Course to Research Methodology - Quantitative(January) ( EC)before gaining entry in the Master's programme, either in August or in January.
