MAGIS Spring School

In the spring, students can take part in the MAGIS International Film Studies Spring School in Gradisca d’Isonzo, Italy, devoted to the study of the academic debate on the relationships between cinema and other contemporary visual art forms. This 10-day intensive programme is aimed at PhD students and advanced MA students in the field of Film and Media Studies and consists of lectures, workshops and screenings. Each year several themes are discussed, such as the problem of identifying, describing and theorizing multiple language versions of films, the relation between cinema and the visual arts, or the release of critical editions of films on DVD. The various themes are highly relevant for students in our programme. Completion of this course yields five extra credits. The school is a joint initiative of the universities of Udine, Paris III, Amsterdam, Bochum, Bremen, Prague, Valencia, Lugano, Milano-Cattolica, Pisa and CineGraph/Hamburg (more information: MAGIS Spring School (6 EC)).
