The Pre-master in Science and Technology Studies is intended for students with a hbo-bachelor degree who want to enroll the Master's in Master's in Science and Technology Studies. The Premaster in STS then serves as a preparatory programme: it consists of the Minor Science and Technology Studies combined with courses in research methodology and data analysis, and two electives. Foreign students with qualifications comparable to two years of academic training in The Netherlands can also be required to complete the Premaster as an entry requirement for the Master programme. Foreign students will follow a tailored programme based on the Admission Committee's assessment of their knowledge needs. This means that in addition to 'Science in the Public Domain' two other courses can be prescribed in the first semester, eliminating the elective and replacing the Methodology and Data-analysis courses (in Dutch) mentioned here by an equivalent course taught in English.
